Project Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This project provides small-scale solar power systems to support households and small farming communities in Railaku, a remote area within the Railaku Post Administrative, Ermera Municipality, Timor-Leste.
The deployment focuses on families who rely primarily on small-scale agriculture for their livelihoods and who currently have little to no access to grid electricity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energy Context<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In many remote parts of Railaku, access to basic electricity remains extremely limited or nonexistent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result:
– Households rely on candles for lighting at night
– To charge mobile phones or flashlights, residents must travel up to 6 km
– Lack of reliable lighting affects safety, communication, and daily productivity
These challenges place a disproportionate burden on farming families living far from infrastructure and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solar System Solution<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To address these challenges, GoKoval deployed a compact, off-grid solar system designed to be affordable, reliable, and easy to operate.
Each system enables:
– Safe and reliable household lighting at night
– Charging of essential electronic devices such as mobile phones and flashlights
– Reduced dependence on candles and long-distance travel for basic energy needs
The system is intentionally simple to ensure local usability and long-term sustainability.
